Stand on top of Crete and watch the full moon rise and the sun set. We ascend Pachnes in the afternoon and enjoy the spectacle until the night has come and the moon is higher up in the sky before descending the mountain using the light of the moon (and maybe a head torch briefly in one or two passages).
This can only be done in summer in good weather conditions around the time of the full moon. You will need plenty of warm clothes inclusing warm hat and gloves to be comfortable on the summit if it is windy.
