advantage of the fantastic walking
opportunities on Crete without offering
walking tours. A popular option
is a programme including day tours
with "return to base"
in the evening. This can include
as many or as few walks as desired
depending on your clientele.
Whilst most large operators restrict
themselves to the gorge of Samaria
and a couple of others (which
have of course become overrun),
the range of possible walks is vast
and embraces anything from easy
coastal walks to more arduous hikes
through deep gorges or mountain
peaks. Since there are beautiful
walks to be found all over western
Crete they can easily be planned
to fit in with the location of your
accommodation to minimize transport
time and cost.
